Taylor said that Disney and Lucasfilm are allowing the team to « create some additional content, » including « some levels that take place before the events of The Force Awakens. » The game will explore the characters’ backstory, which Taylor mentioned is, « …an absolute dream for any fan of Star Wars. » A lot of the additional story will be exclusive, though the developer has also, « …drawn from the content in some of the other additional materials that Lucasfilm have been involved in. »
Six missions will be what TT Fusion called « bridge content. » Players will have access to these after finishing key points in the story’s main plot line, though each of these bridge missions must be unlocked by collecting gold LEGO bricks. LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ side missions will explore, topics like how C-3PO got his red-arm, and how Han Solo and Chewbacca captured the rathtars that were onboard their freight ship.
